CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 144th birth anniversary of the renowned modern storyteller and novelist Munshi Premchand, born in 1880 in the village of Lamhi near Banaras, Uttar Pradesh, was celebrated at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office under the chief patronage of Divisional Railway Manager Devashish Tripathi.
The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the garlanding of Munshi Premchand’s portrait by the Divisional Railway Manager. The welcome address was given by Additional Chief Rajbhasha Officer and Additional Divisional Railway Manager Rashmi Diwakar. Dr. Damayanti Saini, Senior Translation Officer from Itarsi, was invited as the keynote speaker. Other employees present also highlighted the personality and works of Munshi Premchand, and appropriate stories and novels written by him were read.
In his address, the Divisional Railway Manager stated that reading about Munshi Premchand’s life reveals that it was full of struggles. Despite his challenging life, he established himself as a great storyteller and novelist of the modern era, securing a unique place in the literary world. This inspires us to always move towards our goals even in difficult situations.
On this occasion, the Divisional Railway Manager told the attending officers and employees that by honoring Munshi Premchand, we honor the timeless power of storytelling and its potential to change society. Let us pledge to keep his spirit alive by embracing the truths expressed through his words.
