CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Railway Board Honours 25 Employees for Outstanding Contribution to Official Language (Rajbhasha)
The 155th meeting of the Railway Board’s Official Language Implementation Committee was held at Rail Bhawan.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Hitendra Malhotra, Member (Operations & Business Development). During the session, he unveiled the 141st edition of the official language magazine “Rail Rajbhasha” and also launched the booklet “Railbani” (Indian Railways – A Confluence of Regional Languages).
In his keynote address, Mr. Malhotra expressed satisfaction over the efforts and initiatives taken by the Railway Board’s Official Language Directorate to promote the progressive use of Hindi. He also suggested including presentations on the works of Hindi literary figures and their contributions to Hindi literature in future meetings, so members could develop a deeper understanding of Hindi literature.
On this occasion, Ms. Usha Venugopal, Member (Finance), advised committee members to work toward better implementation of the official language policy.
Mr. B.M. Agrawal, Member (Traction & Rolling Stock), emphasized that the use of the official language is a constitutional obligation and encouraged members to continuously strive to meet their language-related goals.
The General Manager (Human Resources) stressed the importance of the widespread use of Hindi.
Additional Member (Human Resources) V.G. Bhooma inaugurated the meeting with a welcome address, and Executive Director, Establishment (Labour Laws), Mr. Sudhir Kumar, delivered the vote of thanks.
The meeting also included a review of the official language performance across the Railway Board and its subordinate enterprises for the quarter ending March 2025.
Following the discussions, 25 railway employees who made outstanding contributions to the field of official language implementation across various regional zones were honored with the Kamalapati Tripathi Rajbhasha Gold Medal and the Railway Minister’s Rajbhasha Silver Medal.
