CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: CNN Central News and Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies: In Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, 20 out of 120 samples did not meet the prescribed standards during quality testing of food items. The test also found that samples of Patanjali ghee and Haldiram’s rasgulla and chana were not in accordance with the standards. After the report came out, questions have been raised over food quality and monitoring of products available in the market.

According to information, the Food Safety Department had collected samples of different food products and sent them for testing. In the report received from the laboratory, 20 samples were found not to conform to the prescribed quality standards. These included samples of products from well-known brands.

The purpose of testing food samples is to ensure the quality and safety of food items sold in the market. A sample failing the test means the product concerned did not meet the prescribed standards. However, on the basis of a sample failing a test, all products of an entire brand cannot be considered defective. Detailed information is still awaited on further action against the products and companies concerned in this matter.
