CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A grand conclusion marked the three-day 47th National Arm Wrestling Championship at LNCT University, Bhopal. This prestigious event was successfully organized by the Arm Wrestling Association, Bhopal (M.P.) under the guidance of the Indian Arm Wrestling Federation.
More than 300 participants from 12 states across India took part in the championship, competing in various categories including Sub-Junior, Junior, Youth, Senior (Men and Women), Masters, and Para-athlete divisions. The athletes showcased their strength and skills with high spirit and sportsmanship.
In the men’s category, Uttar Pradesh secured the Overall Team Champion title with 307 points, while in the women’s category, Arunachal Pradesh claimed the first place with 183 points. Several players won gold, silver, and bronze medals across different weight categories.
The Chief Guest at the closing ceremony was Mr. Shailendra Sharma, former President of MPSSDEGB. Distinguished guests at the ceremony included Dr. Anupam Chouksey (Chancellor, JNCT Professional University), Rajesh Sharma (President, Arm Wrestling Association, Madhya Pradesh), Dr. Anand Prasad Sharma (Secretary), and Pankaj Kumar Jain (Sports Director, LNCT Group), among others. Medals and certificates of appreciation were presented to the winning athletes.
This event not only provided a platform for athletes to showcase their talent but also inspired and raised awareness about arm wrestling among the youth. The championship was a memorable success, thanks to the dedication of the organizers, referees, coaches, and volunteers.
