CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The words and thoughts of the great English playwright William Shakespeare echoed through the Sharda Auditorium at Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), as the Department of Humanities and Liberal Arts successfully organized the 5th ‘Fête de Shakespeare’ in collaboration with the Language Teaching Center and the Creation Club. This annual celebration was held as a tribute to Shakespeare’s literary legacy, with enthusiastic student participation and a deep understanding of literature on display.

On this special occasion, Dr. Vinita Mohindra, Professor of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, was present as the chief guest. She praised the leadership and dedication of Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts, in organizing the event. She emphasized that such events are essential for keeping literary heritage alive.

Dr. Amrita Singh, a former student of Rabindranath Tagore University and currently an English teacher, was the distinguished guest. She presented Shakespeare’s works from a creative perspective and highlighted his literary contributions through his famous lines. Her presentation particularly resonated with the students.

Special guest Vanita Saxena freely appreciated the students’ dedication and creative presentations. Her appreciation further inspired the students.

The presence of the University Vice Chancellor, R.P. Dubey, and Registrar, Sangeeta Chaudhary, at the event reflected the university’s commitment to literary initiatives.

A touching moment during the program was when a short video based on the journey of ‘Fête de Shakespeare’ was presented. The video showed how the event began online and has now been successfully organized for five consecutive years.

Students of the Department of Humanities and Liberal Arts showcased their oratory skills by delivering impressive readings of Shakespeare’s poems and sonnets. The participation of international students particularly impressed the audience and received widespread appreciation.

The program concluded with a theatrical presentation of one of Shakespeare’s comedic plays, performed by students under the guidance of Morris, Director of Tagore National School of Drama. Their acting ability and liveliness captivated the audience.
