CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: 6-Day Faculty Development Program on Environmental Sustainability Successfully Conducted at Sri Sathya Sai Women’s College, Bhopal
The Botany and Microbiology Departments of Sri Sathya Sai Women’s College, Bhopal, an A+ grade institution accredited by NAAC, in collaboration with IQAC and EPCO Bhopal, successfully organized a 6-day Faculty Development Program on the theme: “Environmental Sustainability: Integrating Science, Policies, and Traditional Knowledge for a Resilient Future.” The program was guided by College Director Pratibha Singh, Principal Archana Srivastava, and Law Principal Anju Bajpai. The sessions were coordinated and managed by Vice-Principal and Department Heads Renu Mishra, Shikha Mandloi, Nishi Yadav, and Supriya Gupta.
During the program, national and regional experts delivered lectures on contemporary topics including environmental sustainability, green technology, traditional knowledge, climate change, and policy frameworks. Distinguished speakers from across India shared their insights.

Key speakers included:
Lokendra Thakkar (Chief Scientific Officer, EPCO, Bhopal), who discussed India’s Green Credit Scheme and the role of trees and plants in carbon sequestration.
Muskaan Anand (Global Youth Advocate and Environmental Researcher, Jammu & Kashmir), who presented Indian and global perspectives on environmental issues.
Sakshi Bhardwaj (Founder, Jungle Vaas, Bhopal), who spoke on traditional knowledge and environmental sustainability.
Director Kiran Bala (Professor, IIT Indore) on green technology.
Anju Bajpai (Principal, Sri Sathya Sai Law College, Bhopal) on environmental law and policy frameworks.
Neena Arora (IQAC Coordinator & Head of Chemistry, Sri Sathya Sai College for Women, Bhopal) on climate change and sustainable world building.
At the conclusion, speakers and participants emphasized that the program was highly relevant in today’s educational context, helping teachers gain new knowledge and sensitizing them to sustainable development goals in teaching and research. The event witnessed active participation from teachers and researchers from across India, contributing to its success.
