CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 62nd Foundation Day of the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, is being celebrated at the institute. On the second day of the three-day program, the Chief Guest, Inder Singh Parmar, Minister for Higher Education, AYUSH, and Technical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, formally launched 11 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on emerging technologies developed by NITTTR Bhopal.

Parmar stated that NITTTR Bhopal has carved a distinct place in India through continuous efforts and dedicated work. Several national institutions are present in Madhya Pradesh, and the Higher Education Department is ready to collaborate with them in line with the NITTTR Bhopal model. He added that the department is committed to strengthening teacher training and making full use of available resources for the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) in the state. Teachers are the key drivers of NEP.

On this occasion, the training calendar of NITTTR Bhopal was also released, which includes the maximum number of training programs for the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department.

Anupam Rajan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, appreciated the training programs and laboratory facilities of NITTTR Bhopal. Highlighting the department’s commitment, he said that through collaboration with NITTTR, teacher training will be strengthened in both core subjects and laboratory skills.

Prof. Gobardhan Das, Director of IISER Bhopal, emphasized India’s historical legacy, stating that India is not just a developing nation but a “re-developing” nation. Once known as the “Vishwaguru,” India’s youth, with guidance from the older generation, will play a crucial role in restoring its global stature.

Prof. Khem Singh Deharia, Chairman of the Private Universities Regulatory Commission, praised the MOOCs launched by NITTTR Bhopal and said these courses will benefit numerous universities across the country. Through such initiatives and industry collaboration, NITTTR Bhopal is setting an example for other institutions in contributing to the “Developed India” mission.

Prof. Chandra Charu Tripathi stated that institutions should encourage students to participate in MOOCs to enhance their skills. It is the responsibility of institutional heads to provide students with opportunities to learn from expert faculty across institutions. He also informed that the institute plans to launch a BS-MS program in Indian Knowledge Systems from the coming year.

He further noted that nearly 85% of jobs today are skill-based, and therefore NITTTR Bhopal focuses on experiential learning and practical skill development.

Prof. Sanjay Agrawal elaborated on the development journey of NITTTR Bhopal and its future plans. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. R.K. Dixit, while the program was anchored by Anita Lala. A short film showcasing the institute’s 62-year journey and achievements was also screened.

Vice-Chancellors and Directors from various institutions in Bhopal attended the event, along with current and retired faculty members, staff, and students. The program concluded with an essay competition on Swami Vivekananda, a tree plantation drive by faculty and officials, and cultural performances by staff and students.
