CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Candidates linked to the 68,500 Assistant Teacher Recruitment-2018 in Uttar Pradesh have intensified their protest in Lucknow, seeking appointments and resolution of alleged discrepancies in the reservation process. The candidates recently demonstrated outside the residence of Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar and raised slogans in support of their demands.

The recruitment process, which dates back to 2018, has remained a matter of dispute for several years. The protesting candidates claim that eligible candidates from reserved categories did not receive the prescribed benefits during the selection process. They are demanding corrective action and a revised selection list.

A key demand of the candidates is implementation of recommendations made by the Uttar Pradesh State Backward Classes Commission. They have sought a clear decision from the government on the recommendations and resolution of the reservation-related issues before appointments are made.

During the recent demonstration outside Rajbhar’s residence, protesters raised slogans and demanded government intervention. Reports also said that some protesters were detained by police during the demonstrations.

The candidates have also staged demonstrations outside the residences of other state ministers in recent weeks, including Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Their protests have focused on appointment demands, reservation discrepancies and implementation of the commission’s recommendations.

The issue remains under discussion as the candidates continue to seek a government decision on the recruitment process and their appointment-related demands.
