CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: 6th Annual Pediatric Nephrology Conclave 2024 Held at AIIMS Bhopal The 6th Annual Pediatric Nephrology Conclave, organized by the Pediatrics Department of AIIMS and supported by the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA), was successfully concluded. The two-day event was inaugurated by AIIMS Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, who highlighted the newly introduced DM Pediatric Nephrology course at AIIMS and emphasized the importance of collaboration with international institutions for better learning opportunities in pediatric nephrology.
A workshop on “Kidney Support Therapies and POCUS” was also held, providing an extensive overview of emerging therapies and the use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in pediatric nephrology. Pediatric nephrology expert Dr. Anshuman Saha delivered a talk on Acute Kidney Injury and its management in children. A special session on “Prescription Writing for Renal Replacement Therapy” was conducted. Additionally, practical workshops on POCUS, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Peritoneal Dialysis, Hemodialysis, and Central Line Insertion were organized.
Dr. Shikha Malik, Head of Pediatrics Department, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of academic and clinical exchange in improving care for children with kidney diseases. The conference was also addressed by ISN-SRC Lead Dr. Martin Bitzen, ISN-SRC Program Member Dr. Rupesh Raina, IPNA President Dr. Mukta Manthan, Asian Society of Pediatric Nephrology President Dr. Arvind Bagga, and Dean of Academics Dr. Rajneesh Joshi, who emphasized collaborative efforts to advance pediatric nephrology.
On the second day of the conference, a CME session was conducted for pediatricians, fellows, senior residents, and postgraduates, focusing on recent updates and common conditions in pediatric nephrology. The 6th Annual Pediatric Nephrology Conclave at AIIMS Bhopal provided a significant platform for discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among experts to advance the field of pediatric nephrology and enhance patient care. Over 160 participants from across the country attended the conference.
