CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great grandeur at Rabindranath Tagore University. Vice-Chancellor R.P. Dubey, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Gupta, and Registrar Sangeeta Johri hoisted the national flag. On this occasion, under the guidance of NCC Instructor Durga Verma, the NCC Naval Wing cadets performed a flag march and presented a Guard of Honour to the national flag.

This 79th Independence Day at Rabindranath Tagore University was special in the sense that it was student-centric. The students themselves designed the entire program and also expressed their views on stage, which were highly appreciated by the university authorities.

Chief Guest Vice-Chancellor R.P. Dubey said that if India is to achieve the vision of a developed nation by 2047, then academic institutions, teachers, and students must play the most significant role. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Gupta stated that if the youth channel their talent toward the progress of the nation, nothing can stop India from becoming a global power. He added that today’s Indian youth have talent and skills, but what is needed is the right guidance and proper utilization of their abilities.

Registrar Sangeeta Johri expressed pride in India’s strength and military capabilities, stating that through Operation Sindoor, the world has witnessed that India is no longer behind any other nation. This operation has further strengthened the patriotic spirit within every Indian citizen.

Earlier, on the eve of Independence Day, the National Service Scheme organized a “Tiranga Rally,” in which Rahul Singh Parihar from Barkatullah University and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Gupta participated as chief guests, joining students in the rally.

The event also saw the presence of DSW Sheetal Gulati, NSS Program Officer Dr. Rekha Gupta, Gabbar Singh, along with professors, staff members, and students from various departments. On this occasion, tree plantation was also carried out within the university campus.
