CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Indian Air Force’s multinational air exercise ‘Tarang Shakti-2026’ is under way at the Jodhpur airbase in Rajasthan. Air forces from several countries, including India, are taking part in the exercise, which features more than 80 fighter and other military aircraft. During the exercise, modern fighter aircraft practised various operations in war-like conditions.

Tarang Shakti-2026 includes the Indian Air Force’s Tejas, Sukhoi-30 MKI and Rafale aircraft, along with the US F-35A fighter aircraft. The American F-35 is taking part in the Tarang Shakti military exercise for the first time. The United States has sent six F-35A aircraft to Jodhpur. France’s Rafale and the United Arab Emirates’ F-16, along with several other aircraft, are also part of the exercise.

The exercise includes training in complex day and night air operations, dogfights, air-to-air refuelling, air defence and joint operations. Its objective is to improve coordination, operational capability and mutual cooperation among the air forces of different countries.

Tarang Shakti-2026 is being held in Jodhpur from September 26 to October 12. Around 40 countries are participating, while several countries are observing the exercise as observers. Several airbases in western Rajasthan are part of this large-scale air exercise.
