8th Women’s Excellence Awards Ceremony Held at Rabindranath Tagore University

CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women’s Development Cell (WDC) of Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, organized the 8th Women’s Excellence Awards 2026 program at Samman Bhavan, in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Commission and the Samman (SVD) NGO. The event aimed to honor the contributions of women excelling in various sectors of society.

The ceremony was graced by the Registrar of Rabindranath Tagore University, Sangeeta Johri, as the Chief Guest, and Suresh Tomar, Member Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh State Women’s Commission, as the Guest of Honor. Also present were Fr. Simon James, Director – Samman SVD, and Assistant Director Fr. Emmanuel Varghese, who attended the program specially.

The event saw the participation of Naish Jameer, Chairperson of the Women’s Development Cell (WDC), and Kiran Mishra, Secretary of WDC, along with senior university officials and other members of the Women’s Development Cell.

During the program, NGO workers and community leaders who have made remarkable contributions in women’s empowerment and social development were honored with the 8th Women’s Excellence Awards 2026. On this occasion, the Samman (SVD) NGO specially recognized women police officers for their invaluable contributions and dedicated service to society.

Addressing the gathering, Sangeeta Johri stated that as an academic institution, Rabindranath Tagore University will continue to fully support higher education and overall development for women. In his inspirational address, Naish Jameer highlighted the crucial role of women in empowerment, education, and social development.

The program’s theme emphasized cooperation, service, and collective development among women. The event concluded with a strong message promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in society.
