CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In the context of the National Education Policy 2020, a “Senior Citizen Honor Ceremony” was organized by the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell at Shri Satya Sai Women’s College, Bhopal. On this occasion, prominent senior citizens, including 95-year-old freedom fighter, senior satirist, and former Bhopal Municipal Commissioner Devisaran, as well as senior literary figure and polyglot Binay Rajaram, were honored with shawls, coconuts, and plants.
Director Devisaran shared his experiences from his successful life journey, providing valuable insights into the historical traditions and developmental journey of Bhopal. Additionally, senior literary scholar Dr. Binay Rajaram, in his speech, highlighted the Ashram system in Indian culture, scientifically explaining the four ashrams as the foundation of a healthy and happy human society.
Director Pratibha Singh praised the students’ presence, encouraging them to learn about and take interest in the Indian knowledge tradition. Principal Archana Srivastava emphasized the importance of honoring senior citizens, as their experiences contribute significantly to shaping our lives.
In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, certificates were awarded to National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers who participated in various activities, including a flash mob, street play, community service, rally, and tree planting as part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva Hai” program. The event was successfully coordinated by NSS officer Manisha Tripathi.
Present at the ceremony were Meena Parashar, coordinator of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell, members Geeta Gupta, Kiran Shandilya, Manisha Tripathi, along with all faculty members and students of the college.
