News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A 10-day Research Methodology Course Workshop, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, was inaugurated at Rabindranath Tagore University under the joint auspices of the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts. The event was graced by the Honorable Minister of Health and Medical Education, Narendra Shivaji Patel, as the Chief Guest, and Pandit Surendra Bihari Goswami, Principal of Sarojini Naidu Government Girls PG College, Bhopal, as the Special Guest. The program was presided over by the Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, Santosh Choubey. Other notable attendees included Pro-Chancellor Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats, Executive Director of ITDPR, Prof. Amitabh Saxena, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Sangeeta Johri, Dean Academic Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Dr. Rachna Chaturvedi, Dr. Neha Mathur, and Dr. Savitri Parihar. The workshop commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp in front of Goddess Saraswati, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Sangeeta Johri.
In his address, Narendra Shivaji Patel emphasized the crucial role of research and inquiry in establishing Indian knowledge traditions and beliefs. He stressed the need to document and research Indian knowledge traditions in every field, adapting them to contemporary global requirements. He further highlighted the relevance, importance, and utility of organizing workshops and seminars to incorporate the essence of Indianness in education and foster the development of exemplary citizens.
In his speech, Shri Choubey mentioned that the National Education Policy promotes fundamental research and interdisciplinary research and education. He advised researchers to ensure that their research is practical and beneficial to society and the nation. Research should be realistic, systematic, and should nurture both facts and truth. He also mentioned the need to transform market society into human society and strengthen our social relations.
Pandit Surendra Bihari Goswami, in his address, remarked that converting inner noise into harmony is the essence of research. He encouraged not to suppress but to nurture and cultivate inner curiosity, which is the core requirement of research. Prof. Amitabh Saxena stated that there are immense possibilities for research in Hindi, and one need not turn to English for research. Today, there is a vast reservoir of study material in Hindi and other Indian languages. He urged researchers to focus on topics that improve the lives of common people and reveal the truth.
A total of 30 participants from across the country are attending this workshop. The participants are research scholars from various universities in India. With this diversity, the 10-day workshop will include presentations on various dimensions of research. At the end of the program, Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats expressed her gratitude in a vote of thanks. The inaugural session was moderated by Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Sangeeta Johri.
