CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At LN Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Bhopal, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology organized a one-day awareness program on cervical cancer. Dr. Neeta Gupta, Director of Aashakunj Fertility and Gynecology Center, was present as the keynote speaker. The event was sponsored by Serum Institute of India, represented by Vibha Pandav. The program was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Principal Dr. Sapan Jain, Director Dr. Vishal Shivhare, and Vice-Principal Dr. Varsha Vanjari. After a devotional song and guest welcome, Dr. Neeta Gupta and her team inaugurated the seminar.

In her address, Dr. Neeta Gupta discussed the initiation, prevention, and diagnosis of cervical cancer, providing a detailed overview of its medical aspects. She emphasized the increasing cases of cervical cancer and the need for timely vaccination to prevent the disease. Dr. Gupta highlighted that the HPV vaccine for cervical cancer prevention is now available in all hospitals.

She explained that for girls aged 9 to 14, two doses of the vaccine are required. For women aged 16 to 46, three doses are necessary. If pregnancy is planned during this period, a six-month gap after vaccination is essential, and the vaccine should not be administered during pregnancy.

Dr. Vibha Pandav from Serum Institute of India provided detailed information about the vaccine and emphasized the importance of Pap smear tests for women over 36, especially those experiencing white discharge issues.
