CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Barkatullah University, Bhopal, organized a one-day symposium on the occasion of Earth Day by the Department of Earth Sciences. The convenor and department head, Vinisha Singh, chaired the event. Firstly, all distinguished guests were welcomed with floral tributes. Then, all distinguished guests delivered lectures on the theme of the event. Notable guests included Prof. Sadhna Dean of Sciences, Prof.
Vyasa Life Sciences, Head of Aquaculture and Ruchi Ghosh, Head of Sociology and Social Work, who shared their expertise as subject specialists. Dr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, Scientist from CSIR-AMPRI, delivered a special lecture on the theme of Earth Day 2024, “Planet versus Plastic,” emphasizing the message of environmental conservation by saving the Earth, avoiding the use of plastic on Earth, and highlighting the harm caused by plastic usage to the environment.
A poster-making competition was held for students, where they created beautiful posters conveying the message of saving the Earth from pollution. Additionally, students were taken on a visit to the Earth Sciences department’s museum. Over 50 students participated in the poster competition. Barkatullah University saw the presence of department heads, teachers, students, research scholars, and staff members from both inside and outside the university.
