CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the joint auspices of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, and the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal, the Kala Dhorahar workshop was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the university’s Director, Ramakant Pandey, and renowned Hindustani classical singer from Delhi, Subhadra Desai. Following this, Subhadra Desai taught the students of the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus, bhajans of Saint Meera Bai, starting with the composition “Piya Ji Mhare Naina Age Rijo Ji” and “Payoji Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo,” as created by Pandit Kumar Gandharva.
Sandhya Purecha, Chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, mentioned that the Akademi was established with the aim of preserving and promoting India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. The Kala Dhorahar workshop is an important part of this series. The Vice-Chancellor of the Central Sanskrit University, Srinivas Varkhedi, expressed hope that this initiative would play a vital role in spreading knowledge of Indian performing arts and nurturing young talents.
The Director of Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal, Ramakant Pandey, said that Kala Dhorahar is not only beneficial for students but also contributes significantly to the preservation and promotion of our cultural heritage. The Kala Dhorahar workshop is being coordinated by Sangeeta Gundecha and Praveen Dureja.
