This event saw participation from 40 principals and 80 teachers from 26 districts of the state. Subject experts from the Regional Institute of Education (RIE) and members of the Piramal Foundation provided training during the workshop.

‘Holistic Development of Tribal Students is the Goal’

Principal Secretary of Tribal Affairs, Dr. E. Ramesh Kumar, addressed the workshop. He emphasized that nation-building is done not with bricks and cement but with human resources, and teachers play a crucial role in this. The department prioritizes providing quality education in its specialized residential schools. Team building and teamwork among principals and teachers are essential for achieving productive results. Our goal should be to provide tribal students with quality education along with activities like sports for their overall personality development.

We should also play a role in shaping these students’ careers. We need to bridge the gap between studies and career options. Regular career guidance and motivational classes should be organized for tribal students. Successful alumni and senior officials from the district should be invited to the school for special sessions. The Principal Secretary congratulated principals and teachers who achieved 100% results in board exams.

Deputy Secretary of the Tribal Affairs Department, Meenakshi Singh, also addressed the workshop and encouraged other principals to learn from those who achieved good results. Tribal students need significant career guidance after the 12th grade. Therefore, alumni meets should be organized, and former students’ experiences should be shared with current students.

Participants from these districts attended: Principals and teachers from Sehore, Sheopur, Guna, Alirajpur, Barwani, Dhar, Indore, Jhabua, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Mandla, Seoni, Dindori, Betul, Harda, Narmadapuram, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Anuppur, Shahdol, and Umaria were present.
