CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the skilled guidance of West Central Railway General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay and the direction of the Divisional Railway Manager, continuous efforts are being made by the Bhopal Division to provide better facilities to authorized passengers and increase railway revenue.

In this context, a “fortress” ticket-checking campaign was conducted at Itarsi station with the assistance of 31 ticket-checking staff. During this campaign, which was conducted under the supervision of ticket-checking staff, the exit routes of the station were sealed to ensure that no passenger could leave the station without inspection.

During this ticket-checking campaign, tickets of passengers from 43 trains arriving and departing from the station were checked. A total of 141 passengers were caught traveling without a ticket, and a sum of ₹83,130 was collected as fare/fine. Additionally, 172 passengers were found traveling with improper tickets, from whom ₹71,480 was collected as fine/fare. Furthermore, ₹1,700 was collected as a fine from 16 passengers who were traveling with unbooked luggage. Passengers were also advised to travel with proper tickets and not to litter.

Thus, during the fortress ticket-checking campaign at Itarsi station, a total of 329 cases of passengers traveling without a ticket, with improper tickets, or with unbooked luggage were caught, resulting in a total railway revenue of ₹1,56,310.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria has appealed to passengers to travel with proper tickets. Traveling on a waitlisted e-ticket or platform ticket is not permitted. A travel ticket or platform ticket is required to enter the platform. Passengers can also book tickets themselves using the IRCTC website/app and UTS app.
