CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A two-day orientation program for first-year students was organized at Rabindranath Tagore University. The inaugural event was graced by the presence of the university’s Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats, as the chief guest, Dr. Rajeev Agarwal, CMD of Ananya Package Private Limited and President of Mandideep Industries Association, as the motivational speaker, along with Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Dean of Academics at the university, and Dr. Prateek Nigam, the program coordinator.
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Madhur Jain, Director of Vernet Group, Bhopal, served as the motivational speaker, joined by Mr. Rahul Singh Parihar, ETI Trainer & Program Officer of the Distance Education Unit at Barkatullah University, Bhopal, and Dr. Anant Kumar Saxena, Coordinator of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit at Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
During the event, Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats welcomed the young students, stating that their university years would be the “golden period” of their lives. She encouraged them to take responsibility for their decisions as they shape their futures. She emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline in university life and reminded them that they will experience the ups and downs of life more closely now. She stated, “This is the real world, and you can only succeed in it with complete dedication, honesty, and hard work.” She urged the students to work tirelessly over the next four to five years to build a bright future, assuring them that the university would support them every step of the way. She also introduced the students to the New Education Policy and advised them to talk openly to manage mental stress, which would help them overcome it. Dr. Vats stressed the importance of lifelong learning as a key to success.
Dr. Rajeev Agarwal motivated the students by urging them to live life as a celebration. He shared the story of a pencil, highlighting five key lessons: First, you can achieve anything in life if you place yourself in the right hands; second, like an eraser, you will get the opportunity to correct your mistakes; third, it’s what’s inside you that matters, not what’s outside, and this will determine your capabilities; fourth, just as a pencil needs sharpening, you may have to go through painful experiences to reach success; and fifth, wherever you go, leave your mark. He advised the students to entrust themselves to the university and reminded them that challenges are given by God as a means of shaping them, encouraging them to be ready to turn challenges into opportunities.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta welcomed the students and familiarized them with the university’s activities. During the orientation, faculty members, and officials from all faculties, the Center of Excellence, the Atal Incubation Center, NCC, NSS, and the Sports Department introduced the students to the various activities conducted at the university. Additionally, as per UGC guidelines, the chairpersons of committees on anti-ragging, sexual harassment, and others provided students with information and assured them that they could focus fearlessly on their studies and careers at the university.
