CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A 21-day national workshop is being organized by the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal Campus, focusing on the dramatic theories of Bharatamuni and Sharadatanaya. Participants from across the country are being trained in these traditional theories by renowned drama trainer Dr. Suresh Babu, Professor at Sankaracharya University, Kalady (Kerala).

Dr. Suresh Babu is teaching the participants the intricacies of theatrical performance. After the training, the participants will stage the Sanskrit play ‘Abhishek’, composed by the great poet Bhasa, based on the Ramkatha (the story of Rama). Through this performance, the societal structure portrayed in Bhasa’s work will be brought to light. Drama, after all, reflects and engages with the people.

The play ‘Abhishek’, centered on the Ramkatha, will present Rama’s ideal character, symbolizing his living presence in society.

Prof. Ramakant Pandey, Director of the Bhopal Campus, is committed to spreading awareness about Indian knowledge traditions and bringing Sanskrit closer to the general public through such programs.

The Vice Chancellor, Shri Srinivasa Barkhedi, always supports and encourages such initiatives and provides administrative approval promptly. He is a true practitioner of Sanskrit learning and art.

Participants from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh are actively taking part in the workshop.
