CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The two-day Central Working Committee meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) commenced at Raghuvanshpuram Ashram in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This meeting will feature in-depth discussions on crucial topics such as education, society, organization, environment, culture, sports, and service, while also planning future initiatives. A total of 102 representatives from across the country are participating in this session. Mukund C.R., the Joint General Secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was present as a special guest.
Discussions included the current educational, national, and social conditions, along with the structure of the “Vichar Baithak 2025,” a review of the 70th National Convention (2024-25), and student-related issues. Plans for special campaigns such as the “Campus Chalo Abhiyan,” 75 years of the Indian Republic, the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati, and the RSS centenary year were formulated. Organizational tasks, university curriculum reforms, and future planning for 2025-26 and 2026-27 were also discussed. Additionally, the progress of membership campaigns and college units was reviewed.
ABVP’s National General Secretary, Virendra Solanki, stated that a total of 57,82,877 students joined ABVP as members in the 2024-25 session, marking an increase of nearly 800,000 compared to the previous year.
On the first day, key educational issues were discussed, including irregularities in academic institutions, implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), rising tuition fees, and improving education quality.
ABVP National President Rajsharan Shahi emphasized the need to integrate Indian knowledge traditions and cultural values into education. He stressed the effective implementation of NEP in alignment with India’s nature and culture.
Virendra Solanki added that the meeting will discuss the direction of student movements and strategies to encourage youth participation in nation-building. Special workshops will be conducted to enhance the skills of ABVP members, strengthening the organization. Given the era of technological advancements, students will be encouraged to play a leading role in innovation and technology. ABVP will also focus on digital programs and technical awareness, while promoting self-employment and startups to empower youth towards self-reliance.
This ABVP Central Working Committee meeting will serve as a milestone in the holistic development of education, culture, society, and organization. The council aims to prepare students for leadership roles and drive positive societal changes, contributing to India’s emergence as a strong and prosperous nation.
