CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Bhopal Metropolitan Unit, organized an important education dialogue program on “Emerging New Dimensions in Education and the National Education Policy.”

The event was attended by key dignitaries, including Ashutosh, Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), ABVP National Organization Secretary Ashish Chauhan, Metropolitan President Mahendra Mehra, and Metropolitan Minister Aarti Thakur as chief guests. A large number of professors, students, and educationists from various academic institutions in Bhopal participated in the program.

The discussion covered key topics such as the current education system, the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP), Indian knowledge traditions, and ongoing innovations in education. Speakers emphasized the need to make education more flexible, employment-oriented, and rooted in Indian values.

Ashutosh, Director of IIIT, highlighted that India’s education system must align with global competitiveness while staying connected to its rich knowledge heritage. He noted that the new education policy provides multidimensional opportunities for students and does not confine them to a single field.

Ashish Chauhan stated that India’s identity lies in its rich knowledge traditions. He referred to the traditional Gurukul system, where education was aimed not only at individual growth but also at the welfare of society. He also mentioned the four Purusharthas—Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha—as guiding principles for holistic human development. He stressed the need to move beyond the Macaulay system of education and strengthen an India-centric education model, while promoting education in Indian languages.

He further added that the National Education Policy is a significant step toward making education flexible, multidisciplinary, and employment-oriented, helping India move toward becoming a global knowledge superpower once again.

During the program, experts provided satisfactory answers to questions raised by professors and participants. The dialogue served as an effective platform to understand new ideas and possibilities, playing a vital role in driving positive changes in the field of education.
