CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Counting of votes for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) election 2026 is under way on Saturday. In the early trends, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is leading for the posts of president, secretary and joint secretary, while an independent candidate has taken the lead for the vice-president’s post.
In the first round, ABVP’s Yash Dabas received 1,305 votes for the president’s post, while NSUI’s Vijay Shankar Meena secured 1,191 votes. Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen was ahead for the vice-president’s post. ABVP’s Riya Chhawri was leading for secretary, and ABVP’s Lakshya Raj Singh was ahead for joint secretary in the initial trends.
Voting for the four central DUSU posts – president, vice-president, secretary and joint secretary – was held on September 18. This time, total polling was recorded at 40.46 per cent, higher than last year’s 39.45 per cent. In college-level elections too, both ABVP and NSUI have won several seats. However, the early trends cannot be treated as the final result until the final results for the central panel are declared. The position on all four posts will become clear only after the counting is completed.
