CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Acharya Shankaracharya Jayanti, a lecture program was organized on Friday by the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Bhopal. The chief guest of the program was Shri Mohan Nagar, Vice President of the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad (with Minister of State status). The special guests included Executive Director Bakul Lad, Divisional Coordinator Varun Acharya, and Anil Upadhyay, Director of Pratigya Samaj Kalyan Seva Samiti and social worker.
The event began with worship and lighting of the lamp in front of a portrait of Adi Guru Shankaracharya. Expressing his thoughts, Chief Guest and Vice President of the Parishad Mohan Nagar said that Adi Guru Shankaracharya worked towards creating an atmosphere of cultural unity in society.
Acharya Shankar simplified the Vedas by writing commentaries on them and unified society through his teachings. Highlighting the principle of Advaita Vedanta, it was shared that Adi Shankaracharya established the non-dualistic philosophy by interpreting the Upanishads and the Brahma Sutras, emphasizing the unity of the soul with Brahman. His contributions significantly shaped Indian culture, religion, and philosophy. His philosophy and teachings continue to inspire and guide people even today.
Executive Director Bakul Lad encouraged everyone to draw inspiration from the life of Adi Guru Shankaracharya and contribute to social work by following his path. Divisional Coordinator Varun Acharya administered a pledge to all listeners to conserve water as part of the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign.
District Coordinator Kokila Chaturvedi explained the purpose of the program to the attendees. The program was conducted by consultant Ayush Dubey, and a vote of thanks was presented by Anil Upadhyay.
On this occasion, Block Coordinators Nandkishore Malviya, Mukesh Gaur, Ms. Tina Sharma, several budding organizations affiliated with the Parishad, CMCLDP consultants, and a large number of students participated in the event.
