CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Team India is looking for a new head coach as Rahul Dravid’s tenure is set to get over after the T20 World Cup 2024.

After Ricky Ponting declined the offer to become Team India head coach, Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Andy Flower has said that he has no plans to replace Rahul Dravid. India will be without a head coach after the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 as it has been reported that Dravid is not interested in continuing in his current role after his ongoing tenure ends next month. BCCI has already invited applications for the head coach position and many former stars have been linked with the job.

Flower, who has been highly successful in the T20 arena and also coached England earlier, is also one of them, but he is not interested.

“I haven’t applied. I won’t be applying. I am happy with my involvement in the franchise game at the moment,” the 56-year Flower said at the press conference on Wednesday after RCB were knocked out from IPL 2024.

Flower is best remembered in India for his skillful batting against the spinners and guiding England to a Test series win in India in 2012.

“It’s fascinating stuff and I’m working with some amazing organisations so I’m really happy with that at the moment,” he added.

“I’d love to be a senior coach of a national team, but with the other things that I have in my life and wanting to have a bit of time at home…everyone knows if you take a job working with the Indian team you can’t be involved in an IPL team, so it would take that out of it as well.

“Also, a national head coach is a 10 or 11-month of the year job, and as much as I’d like to do it, it just doesn’t fit into my lifestyle right now and the things that I really enjoy doing.”
