CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A meeting of all Mandi Secretaries of Madhya Pradesh was held by Nishant Barbade, Secretary of the Department of Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh, from the VC room at Vallabh Bhavan. During this meeting, extensive instructions were provided regarding the successful implementation of the Bhavantar Payment Scheme.

Out of the 259 Mandi Committees in Madhya Pradesh, approximately 200 mandis receive soybean produce. Along with these main mandis, instructions were given to implement the Bhavantar Payment Scheme in the sub-mandis as well. In more than 80 sub-mandis, the purchase of soybean produce from farmers under the Bhavantar Payment Scheme will be carried out by mandi traders.

For this purpose, the Secretary instructed that all necessary arrangements for the successful operation of the scheme should be completed within the specified timeframe. The registration of farmers is currently ongoing and will continue until October 17, 2025. So far, more than 115,000 farmers have been registered. The purchase of soybean in mandis will begin on October 24, 2025.

The Secretary instructed that when the first auction begins on each working day at the mandi, the Mandi Secretary and the burden officer should be present at the auction site and supervise the auction process. The procurement of farmers’ soybean produce under the Bhavantar Payment Scheme will be conducted through the e-Mandi system already implemented in the mandis.

Comprehensive preparations have been instructed to ensure that farmers visiting the mandis do not face any inconvenience. These preparations include cleanliness, provision of safe drinking water, ₹5 meal plates, canteens, proper toilets, farmer rest houses, sound amplification systems for announcements in the mandi, and functional CCTV cameras with recordings maintained for the entire duration of the Bhavantar scheme.

In the second phase of the meeting, Kumar Purushottam, Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board, also engaged in one-to-one discussions with the Mandi Secretaries for the successful implementation of the scheme. Information about the scheme was shared with all Mandi Secretaries through a PPT presentation, where Additional Managing Director Anurag Saxena explained the finer details of the scheme.

The meeting was attended by all 259 Mandi Secretaries of Madhya Pradesh, all seven regional officers, Additional Director R.R. Ahirwar, Joint Director Ms. Sangeeta Dhokhe, Deputy Directors Praveen Verma and Pooja Singh, Programmer Sanjeev Agnihotri, Assistant Directors Yogesh Nagle, Avinash Pathe, Arvind Parihar, Govind Sharma, Consultants Niranjan Singh and Nainsingh Solanki.
