CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Two-Day Mega International Conference on Advertising and Public Relations Successfully Concluded at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU)

The Department of Advertising and Public Relations at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU) successfully hosted a two-day mega international conference. The event focused on the astonishing global changes in advertising, public relations, and modern trends, attracting a large number of research paper presentations.

Nearly 200 participants from India and abroad—including experts, academics, leading thinkers, research scholars, and students—took part, presenting new topics, fresh issues, and impactful papers. The two-day program was divided into 16 sessions, conducted in parallel online and offline formats, allowing all presentations to be attended attentively.

Alongside the university’s guest lecturers and regular faculty, students actively participated in the event. Professors from various government and non-government universities across the country also contributed, enhancing the conference’s prestige.

Most researchers presented their papers with positive thinking and innovative approaches. The topics ranged from fashion, banking, Kumbh Mela, traffic management, digital storytelling, AI-generated animation films, smart storytelling, green marketing, to the role of AI in film promotion on OTT platforms.

Some participants also discussed the potential risks of AI and proposed solutions to address future challenges. The conference highlighted the evolving dynamics of advertising and public relations and examined the ever-changing algorithms shaping the field.

During certain sessions, questions arose such as: What if AI, while manipulating language, develops its own language? and What if AI studies human behavior but begins to influence it in its own way? One participant raised concerns about why people still hesitate to trust AI even if it represents our future. Another question addressed how AI can be leveraged to make public relations campaigns more effective.

In an online session, Prof. Manish Verma (School of Creative Arts, Bahrain Polytechnic, Bahrain) explained how AI is shaping the media environment in ways far more beautiful and simple than human imagination. He discussed the vision for 2030 and the specific skills required to adapt to the changing landscape. He cautioned that while AI empowers words and visuals, it is essential to ensure this power does not overwhelm us. He also introduced participants to several essential modern AI tools.

Research papers by experts such as Dr. Sergei Samoilenko (George Mason University, USA), Prof. Nirmalmani Adhikari (Kathmandu University, Nepal), and Vinod Nagar (Founder, CBMD AI) were particularly appreciated during the conference.

On the second day’s final session, notable attendees included University Registrar Prof. P. Shashikala, Dean Academic Prof. Manish Maheshwari, heads of various departments, faculty members, researchers, and students, all of whom contributed to the event’s success.
