CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Bhopal, consistently emphasizes the importance of effective partnerships between institutions. AIIMS has achieved significant milestones across various academic platforms. Recently, a team from AIIMS and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) collaboratively developed a smart digital version of the regular IQ test. This innovative device simplifies the IQ testing process and automatically calculates the IQ range. It is expected to significantly expedite the IQ testing process and reduce the burden on psychologists, allowing them to focus on more critical aspects of diagnosis and treatment.
By making IQ testing more accessible and efficient, this advancement ensures that more children receive timely evaluations and necessary support, ultimately improving their developmental outcomes and quality of life. IQ testing in children is crucial for identifying cognitive strengths and weaknesses, diagnosing learning disabilities, and developing educational strategies. Early detection of intellectual challenges aids in timely intervention, promoting better academic and social development. Accurate IQ assessments ensure that children receive the support needed to reach their full potential.
There is a high demand for IQ testing among children, especially those of school-going age suspected of suffering from various mental disorders during childhood. Conducting an IQ test requires a trained psychologist who must devote considerable time to administering the test to a child. The team members included Dr. Tamonud Modak from AIIMS, and Dr. Mitul Kumar Ahirwal and Mr. Amulya Ratna from MANIT.
