CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Department of Anatomy at AIIMS Bhopal organized a body donation awareness program on the occasion of World Anatomy Day. The objective of the program was to spread awareness about body donation and inspire the public to participate in this noble cause. AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Professor Ajay Singh, stated, “Body donation is not just a personal decision, but a significant contribution to society. It is crucial for medical education and research. We all should come forward for this virtuous act and pledge to donate our bodies.”
Meanwhile, AIIMS Bhopal’s Deputy Director (Administration), Colonel Ajit Kumar, remarked that body donation is not only a priceless contribution to the medical field but also a symbol of deep empathy towards society.
On this occasion, first-year MBBS students presented a theatrical performance highlighting the importance of body donation in the study of anatomy. A walkathon was also organized, where students carried boards with slogans promoting body donation awareness. The Anatomy Department at AIIMS Bhopal has received approximately 150 body donations to date, which are vital for medical education, training, and research.
The success of the program was supported by both the general public and non-governmental organizations.
