In this pursuit, AIIMS Bhopal has further strengthened its collaboration with CanKids-Kidscan, a leading organization in India dedicated to holistic care for children with cancer.
Since January 2022, CanKids-Kidscan has been supporting children battling cancer at AIIMS Bhopal through medical assistance, psychological support, accommodation facilities, and auxiliary staff such as social workers, psychologists, and educators. AIIMS Bhopal takes pride in being the first Pediatric Oncology Center in the state of Madhya Pradesh, which has also inspired advancements in this field across other public and private institutions in the state.
Recently, Ms. Sonal Sharma, Co-founder of CanKids, paid a courtesy visit to AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director Ajay Singh along with her team. During the meeting, both parties expressed mutual commitment to enhancing pediatric cancer care. AIIMS Bhopal will provide training and expertise, while CanKids will continue patient support and contribute to the development of new facilities at the institute.
The meeting was also attended by the Medical Superintendent, Head of the Pediatrics Department, and Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologists. On the occasion, Prof. Ajay Singh stated, “Every child deserves the best healthcare, especially when fighting a life-threatening disease like cancer. At AIIMS Bhopal, we are committed to strengthening pediatric cancer treatment with compassion and scientific excellence.”
