CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Ajay Singh, the Department of Pharmacology, in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine, successfully organized an awareness campaign on pharmacovigilance at the Government Primary School and Gram Panchayat Office in Nandora, Bhopal (M.P.).
The objective of this program was to educate the local community about the critical role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring the safety and efficacy of medicinal products, and to raise awareness about the prohibition of the use of Nimesulide in children under the age of 12.
Speaking on the importance of such awareness initiatives, Prof. Singh said, “The purpose of this initiative is to inform the local community about potential adverse events associated with medicinal products. By sharing such vital information, we aim not only to promote patient safety but also to contribute to the overall improvement of healthcare quality.”
Through interactive sessions and discussions, the program highlighted the significance of monitoring adverse events of medicinal products and the need for vigilance regarding the use of Nimesulide in children under 12 years. Participants were informed about how they can actively contribute to improving public health outcomes by identifying and reporting adverse drug events.
By fostering a sense of collective responsibility, the program underscored the critical relationship between healthcare professionals, patients, and the broader community in ensuring the safe use and monitoring of medicinal products.
