CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the leadership of Executive Director Ajay Singh, AIIMS Bhopal’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) organized a “Gender Sensitization Program.” The program was inaugurated by Ajay Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal. Its objective was to raise awareness among newly appointed employees about workplace gender harassment, the rules of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act (POSH), and the importance of an inclusive and respectful work environment. Prof. Singh emphasized the importance of a gender-sensitive workplace, stating that a safe and inclusive environment is essential for the growth of both individuals and institutions. He highlighted that gender equality and respect are core values and that this sensitization program is a crucial step towards ensuring a dignified and collaborative workplace for employees.
The program began with a welcome speech and an introduction to the event by ICC Chairperson Vaishali Wandeskar. Following this, Dr. Debashree Sarkar, Senior Assistant Professor from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, discussed the laws and prevention policies in detail. The session provided insights into the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace, legal provisions, and the responsible behavior expected from employees. The program concluded with a Q&A session where employees addressed their queries related to the law. Various department heads, staff from all offices, paramedical staff, nursing officers, newly appointed employees, and students were present at the event.
