CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Dr. Narendra Chaudhary, Additional Professor of the Pediatrics Department at AIIMS Bhopal, participated in an outreach health camp held at the Government Higher Secondary School in Akarsada, Bhilwara district, Rajasthan, across the border from Madhya Pradesh. The camp was organized by the Gram Seva Kendra Akarsada Alumni Association with the support of local villagers and school staff. Over two days, 366 children were examined, with 50% of them being girls. Only 7% of the children were found to have anemia, thanks to the regular administration of iron, folic acid, and deworming medicines by the healthcare workers. About 12% were found to be stunted, and 14% were underweight.

Many children had poor dental hygiene, although tooth decay was found in only 10 children. They were advised on maintaining good dental and mental health, in addition to their physical health. On this occasion, Dr. Narendra Chaudhary also informed the attendees about the facilities available at AIIMS Bhopal, particularly for children suffering from cancer. The group also participated in the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign. Dr. Chaudhary expressed his gratitude to the organizers, especially G.C. Chaudhary and Gopal Sharma, for the invitation. He also thanked Ajay Singh, Director of AIIMS Bhopal, for his continued encouragement and support for outreach activities.
