CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Director Dr. Ajay Singh, the Department of Ophthalmology at AIIMS Bhopal organized a two-day eye donation awareness campaign. This initiative was conducted in observance of International Nurses Day, with the goal of educating the nursing staff about the importance of eye donation.

AIIMS Bhopal is celebrating a fortnight dedicated to International Nurses Day, during which such awareness programs are being organized to honor the nursing community and actively involve them in social health initiatives.

Nursing officers, senior nursing staff, and assistant nursing superintendents working in various wards and ICUs of AIIMS Bhopal participated in the campaign. They filled pledge forms committing to eye donation and also pledged to motivate patients and their families to support the cause. The enthusiastic participation of the nursing staff highlighted their deep sense of social responsibility.

This campaign marked a significant step toward raising awareness about eye donation, reducing blindness, and offering vision to the needy. On this occasion, Professor Singh said, “Nursing staff are the backbone of our healthcare system. When they engage in noble causes like eye donation, it sends a powerful and positive message to society. One eye donation can restore someone’s sight, and such campaigns help build a more aware and compassionate society.”

The Department of Ophthalmology at AIIMS Bhopal continues to work relentlessly to promote the spirit of eye donation and spread awareness among the general public.
