CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Ajay Singh, the Department of Physiology organized a lecture on “Evidence-Based Lifestyle Management: Nutrition, Recreation, Proper Sleep, and Social Engagement.” The keynote speaker was Dr. Mrunal Phatak, Dean (Academics) and Professor & Head of the Department of Physiology at AIIMS Nagpur.

Dr. Phatak highlighted the importance of lifestyle interventions in preventing and managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She shared evidence-based strategies such as adopting a whole plant-based diet, engaging in regular physical activity, ensuring adequate sleep, maintaining hygiene, and fostering social connections. Through real-life case studies, she demonstrated the positive impact of these strategies. Dr. Phatak also emphasized the FITT principle (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type) for exercise and the significance of stress management.

On this occasion, Prof. Singh remarked, “This lecture is a significant step toward holistic health. By adopting evidence-based lifestyles, we can make patient care more effective and empathetic.”

The event, held under the supervision of Prof. Santosh Wakode, Head of the Department of Physiology, witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and healthcare professionals. Dean (Academics) and Head of the Department of Medicine, Dr. Rajnish Joshi, presented clinical perspectives, emphasizing the integration of lifestyle changes into patient care. Prof. Bertha, Head of the Department of Anatomy, underscored the necessity of adopting a healthy lifestyle through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and positive thinking.
