CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : AIIMS Bhopal, under the leadership of Executive Director Prof. Ajay Singh, remains consistently active in strengthening public health and medical education. In this effort, a significant regional training program was organized with the aim of ensuring the safety of medical equipment.
The Department of Pharmacology at MGM Medical College, Indore, conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on the theme “Ensuring Patient Safety through Equipment Surveillance”. The Materiovigilance Regional Training Center at AIIMS Bhopal played a vital role in this event.
Prof. Shilpa Kaur, Coordinator of the Center, conducted an interactive session on “MDAE Reporting” (Medical Device Adverse Event Reporting), which included case studies, hands-on training, and detailed information on reporting platforms.

The training saw participation from a wide range of healthcare professionals, including doctors, postgraduate students, nursing staff, pharmacy experts, and biomedical engineers. The session focused specifically on identifying adverse events related to medical devices, root cause analysis, and regulatory procedures.
Prof. Ajay Singh stated, “The reliability of medical devices is crucial for patient safety. Such training programs elevate the quality of healthcare services to a new level.”
This initiative is a significant step in supporting the national strategy of the Ministry of Health.
