CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the leadership of Executive Director Ajay Singh, AIIMS Bhopal has played a significant role in training medical officers working in peripheral health centers across Madhya Pradesh. This initiative is part of various service delivery and research projects aimed at improving healthcare services in the region. Prof. Ajay Singh emphasized the importance of such training programs, stating, “We are committed to providing comprehensive training to enhance the capabilities of our healthcare professionals.
This initiative is crucial for addressing mental health challenges in our communities and ensuring that our medical officers are equipped with the necessary skills to effectively manage these issues. I consistently encourage my faculty to conduct more training and capacity-building initiatives to improve healthcare services and systems in Madhya Pradesh and neighboring areas.”
AIIMS Bhopal organized a two-day training program for medical officers from three districts of Madhya Pradesh—Bhopal, Raisen, and Sehore. The focus of the training was on screening, diagnosing, managing, and referring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, severe mental disorders, and substance use disorders. Participants were also trained in standard treatment workflows developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as well as in testing and feedback mechanisms.
This training initiative was conducted under the “ICMR-MINDS” project, which focuses on the screening and management of mental and substance use disorders integrated with other non-communicable diseases. The project is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). AIIMS Bhopal remains committed to improving healthcare services and empowering medical professionals through continuous training and development.
