CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A Team of Doctors from AIIMS Conducts Successful Outreach Activity at Raisen District Hospital
Led by Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh, a team of doctors from AIIMS organized a successful outreach activity at the district hospital in Raisen. Prof. Singh is a strong advocate for extending health services to underserved rural populations. This initiative is part of AIIMS Bhopal’s ongoing commitment to expanding health services to rural areas in neighboring districts, reinforcing its commitment to the state and region.
During this outreach program, the AIIMS team attended to a total of 94 patients in the OPD. Among them, 70 pediatric patients received medical consultations. The cases included a range of conditions such as acute febrile illness, severe anemia, rickets, severe dehydration, abdominal pain, and patients suffering from large kidney stones.
Additionally, the Community and Family Medicine Department provided medical consultations to 24 patients. The team primarily managed cases of acute respiratory infections and gastroenteritis, offering valuable advice on dietary and lifestyle modifications for patients struggling with hypertension and diabetes. The AIIMS team included Senior Residents Dr. Nehil Nigam, Dr. Ananthan, Dr. Sanskriti Kalura, Dr. Avni, and Dr. Mahak.
Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh praised the team’s dedication and service, emphasizing the importance of such outreach activities in bridging the gap between urban and rural healthcare. He reiterated AIIMS’s commitment to continuing these efforts to enhance the reach and quality of healthcare for all.
