CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Prof. Ajay Singh, the Department of Trauma and Emergency Medicine successfully organized a one-day training workshop on the occasion of World Emergency Medicine Day. Aligned with this year’s theme, “Proud to Provide Your Emergency Care,” the objective of the training was to equip around 50 Rapido Captains (rental bike riders) from Bhopal with life-saving first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
Participants received both practical and theoretical training to help them deliver quick and effective emergency response during critical situations. Interactive demos and hands-on sessions prepared Rapido Captains to act swiftly in case of road accidents or other emergencies. The workshop was organized under the supervision of Prof. Yunus, Head of the Trauma and Emergency Medicine Department, and conducted by medical professionals including Dr. Bhupeshwari Patel, Dr. Rashmi Verma, and other experts.
On this occasion, Prof. Ajay Singh stated, “Emergency medicine is not confined to hospitals alone. Citizens like Rapido Captains, who spend a significant amount of time on the roads, can become first responders. Through this initiative, we’ve taken a vital step toward building a capable and responsible civil society. AIIMS Bhopal is proud to promote such community engagement.”
