CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the leadership of Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Dr. Ajay Singh, a one-day free sickle cell screening and public awareness camp, along with a Raktkranti (Blood Revolution) Felicitation Ceremony, was successfully organized at Paradise School, Bodarjhiri (Amla, District Betul).
This camp was jointly conducted by AIIMS Bhopal and the Madhya Pradesh Thalassemia Awareness Committee, with the objective of spreading awareness in tribal and underserved areas about serious genetic blood disorders like sickle cell disease, and providing free diagnostic facilities.

A 16-member team from AIIMS Bhopal screened over 230 individuals, out of which 156 underwent free point-of-care testing.
On this occasion, Dr. Ajay Singh stated,
“Sickle cell disease still poses a major challenge. Early identification and public awareness are crucial before treatment can even begin.”

Special guests Gaurav Dhingra, Vaishali Walke, Danish Javed, and Yogendra Singh Yadav emphasized the importance of preventive measures and premarital screening to combat sickle cell disease.
The event saw active participation from various social organizations and schools. As part of the Raktkranti Felicitation Ceremony, blood donors and social workers were honored for their service.
This initiative marked a significant step in delivering essential health services to rural communities.
