CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the leadership of Executive Director Prof. Ajay Singh, the Centre for Medical Education Technology (CMET) at AIIMS Bhopal is conducting a special 2-day training program on Medical Education Technologies (SR-MET) for senior residents. The aim of this program is to provide training in the fundamental principles of medical education and their practical applications, enabling senior residents to contribute more effectively to the teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
While inaugurating the two-day training program, Prof. Ajay Singh highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “Medical education is the foundation of quality healthcare. Programs like SR-MET equip senior residents with essential teaching skills, thereby enhancing the overall quality of medical training. Our goal is to create an effective and collaborative learning environment for both teachers and students.” He also shared his experience,
Present on the occasion were Prof. Balakrishnan S., Dean – Student Welfare; Dr. Ashwini Tandon, Acting Dean (Academics); Dr. Vaishali Vandekar, Chairperson of CMET; faculty members of CMET; and other senior faculty members. A total of 57 senior residents are participating in this program.
It is a matter of pride for AIIMS Bhopal to host such a training program for senior residents, a practice carried out by only a few medical institutions in the country. This training initiative at AIIMS Bhopal is unique and comprehensive, as it includes sessions not only on teaching skills but also on communication, presentation, interpersonal relations, and scientific research paper writing. The SR-MET program is an integral part of AIIMS Bhopal’s ongoing efforts to strengthen medical education and training within the institution.
