CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal Launches “Translational Dermatology Initiative” for Personalized Skin Care

AIIMS Bhopal, under the leadership of Executive Director Prof. Ajay Singh, has launched the “Translational Dermatology Initiative” to deliver precise and personalized treatments for skin disorders. This initiative integrates clinical science, laboratory research, and digital technologies, marking a new chapter in dermatological care in India.

Patients suffering from conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, and rare genetic skin diseases will now receive individualized treatments based on their biological and genetic profiles. Departments including Dermatology, Translational Medicine, Biochemistry, Precision Medicine, and the Center for Innovation are collaborating on this effort.

The initiative focuses on six core areas: genetic skin diseases, inflammatory disorders, immunodermatology, AI-based imaging, skin cancer, and biobanking. A special pediatric dermatology clinic has also been launched, operating every Friday from 2 PM to 4 PM.

This initiative not only benefits patients but also plays a crucial role in policy-making, public health awareness, and medical education. Prof. Singh described it as AIIMS Bhopal’s commitment to science-driven patient care.

This innovation represents a milestone in bringing dermatological care in India up to global standards.
