CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Director Ajay Singh, AIIMS Bhopal and Atal Bihari Vajpayee (ABV) Government Medical College, Vidisha, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration will connect the Eye Bank at AIIMS Bhopal with the Cornea Retrieval Center at ABV Government Medical College, Vidisha. Corneas/eyeballs donated in Vidisha will be sent to the Eye Bank at AIIMS Bhopal for transplantation under the Human Organ Transplantation Act.

Highlighting the importance of this MoU, Director Singh said, “This agreement will encourage cornea transplantation and raise awareness about organ donation. In the future, we aim to sign a comprehensive MoU with ABV Medical College. This is a revolutionary step toward strengthening healthcare services and promoting organ donation.”

On behalf of ABV Government Medical College, Vidisha, Dean and Director Manish Nigam signed the MoU. Speaking about this partnership, Director Nigam stated, “The people of Vidisha are very supportive and aware of organ donation. This collaboration will encourage eye donation and help provide vision to those in need.”

The signing ceremony was attended by Bhavana Sharma, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at AIIMS Bhopal, Acting Medical Superintendent Shashank Purwar, and other faculty members and officials.
