CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Ajay Singh, the ENT Department (Head & Neck Surgery) organized World Hearing Day 2025. This year’s theme, “Change Your Mindset: Empower Yourself to Make Ear and Hearing Care a Reality for All!”, aimed to raise awareness about hearing loss prevention, early detection, and restoration possibilities.
The event commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. Aparna Chavan, Head of the Department, who emphasized the need for behavioral changes to protect hearing health. She highlighted the importance of avoiding loud noise exposure, regular hearing check-ups, and the use of hearing aids to improve the lives of individuals with hearing impairments.
Following this, Prof. Vikas Gupta conducted an informative awareness session on cochlear implantation, explaining how this revolutionary procedure can transform the lives of children with hearing disabilities. His lecture provided attendees with insights into the latest advancements in hearing restoration.
One of the most inspiring moments of the event was a cultural performance by children who had received cochlear implants. Their performance showcased the profound impact of hearing restoration on their lives.

Notable doctors Dr. Anjan Sahu, Dr. Sheela Sedam, Dr. Gankalyan Behera, and Dr. Utkal Mishra were instrumental in performing these life-changing surgeries. The inspiring testimonials of the beneficiaries showcased the transformative power of medical advancements.
The event concluded with the distribution of gifts to children who had received cochlear implants, recognizing their efforts and resilience.
