CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal’s AYUSH Department Celebrates Foundation Day The AYUSH Department of AIIMS Bhopal celebrated its Foundation Day. Speaking as the chief guest, AIIMS Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh highlighted the department’s significant progress over the past two years. He noted the increase in patient numbers and the successful implementation of the integrated medicine OPD. Prof. Singh emphasized that AYUSH methods are particularly effective in treating various diseases and should be viewed as complementary to allopathic treatments. He urged the department to make better use of available resources to ensure optimal patient health and to enhance outreach activities to increase public awareness and trust in AYUSH practices.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh released two books: “Pranayama,” written by Dr. Jyoti Keswani, Professor and Head of the Yoga Department at Sant Hiradarama Medical College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences for Women, Bhopal, and “Oral Examinations in Physiology,” written in Hindi and English for medical students by Dr. Varun Malhotra and Dr. Jyoti Keswani from the Physiology Department of AIIMS.
Guest speaker Dr. Prakash C. Malashe discussed the medical aspects of yoga. The event was attended by department heads, faculty members, officials, and residents. Senior Medical Officer Dr. Danish Javed provided an overview of the department’s achievements over the year.
