CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: Under the leadership of AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Dr. Ajay Singh, the institution has made significant strides in research and medicine. In a proud achievement, Ms. Kashmi Sharma, a Ph.D. scholar from the Department of Translational Medicine at AIIMS Bhopal, won the Young Researcher Award at the 5th Science Enclave cum National Biomedical Research Competition (NBRCom-2024), held in New Delhi.

Working under the guidance of Dr. Megha Katare Pandey, Associate Professor in the Translational Medicine and Infectious Diseases Laboratory, Ms. Sharma also received the Best Poster Presentation Award along with a cash prize of ₹5,000 for her research.

Details of the Research:
Ms. Sharma’s research was titled:
“Risk of Human Parvovirus B19 Transmission in Neonatal Intensive Care: Insights from an Exploratory Study on Sepsis and Blood Transfusion.”

The study was conducted in collaboration with GMC Bhopal and co-authored by Rohan Srivastava, Somesh Mishra, and Dr. Rupinder K. Kanwar, Head of Translational Medicine. The research holds significant importance in the field of health sciences, providing valuable insights into preventing viral infections in neonatal care. It aims to enhance infection control protocols and improve neonatal outcomes.

Other Contributions by AIIMS Scholars:
AIIMS Bhopal students Ms. Zeba Ziva Khan and Ms. Poonam Parihar also presented their research on the impact of fly ash on animal models, contributing to the discussions on science and innovation at the conference.
