His effective and visionary leadership has led AIIMS to make substantial progress in research and patient care. Inspired by Prof. Singh, faculty members are excelling in various research activities, earning recognition and accolades on national and international platforms.
Recently, Dr. Jagat Rakesh Kanwar, Head of the Biochemistry Department, and Dr. Rupinder Kaur Kanwar, Head of the Translational Medicine Department, were honored with the prestigious Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Arogya Bhushan Award for their contributions. This Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to them for their adoption of new medical technologies, partnerships in medical research, and contributions to the future of medicine—specifically in the field of nanotechnology. Additionally, they have made significant contributions to several academic and industrial research institutions, including Lactopharma (New Zealand) and the Deakin India Research Initiative (Australia). The efforts of Dr. Rupinder Kaur Kanwar and Dr. Jagat Rakesh Kanwar have played a pivotal role in advancing the “Project Swadesh” initiative at AIIMS Bhopal.
Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar was a dedicated physician and freedom fighter. This award, named in his memory, is given in recognition of research and dedicated service in the medical field.
Dr. Singh congratulated the Kanwar couple on receiving this honor, stating that this recognition will further inspire our faculty members, residents, and students to pursue new research endeavors, leading to more precise and improved patient care.
