CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Professor Ajay Singh, AIIMS organized an awareness program as part of the Drug-Free India campaign. Professor Singh believes that “Substance abuse not only affects an individual’s physical and mental health but also hinders the progress of the entire society. The primary goal of this campaign is not only to inform people about the destructive effects of addiction but also to inspire them to pursue the path of de-addiction.”

During the program, the Department of Psychiatry provided information on the harmful effects of substance abuse and various de-addiction options. The Deans of Academics and Student Welfare highlighted that the Psychiatry Department is continuously working towards mental health and de-addiction. They also mentioned that AIIMS has a dedicated de-addiction OPD (Outpatient Department) where regular services are provided.

A large number of faculty members, residents, students, and other staff participated in the program and took a pledge to spread awareness about de-addiction. AIIMS is not only leading in providing treatment but is also committed to empowering society in the fight against this social evil.
