CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The South Best Zone Inter-University Men’s Judo Championship 2024-25, organized by LNCT University under the aegis of the Indian University Association, was held at the LNCT University Auditorium, Kolar Road, Bhopal. On the third day of exciting matches, in the -81 kg weight category for men, Saurabh Soni from Pandit Deendayal University, Sikar won the gold medal, Yashvardhan Vipul from IES Bhopal secured the silver medal, and Manas Mahesh Bhai from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, and Mukesh from Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner earned the bronze medal jointly.
In the -66 kg weight category for men, Siddharth Rawat from Rajasthan University won the gold medal, Ayush Bhawari from RNTU Bhopal earned the silver medal, and Krish Patel from Sakal Chandra Patel University and Sanju Saini from Maharaja Surajmal University jointly won the bronze medal.
During the medal ceremony, the following dignitaries presented the medals to the winning players: Babita Kathait, Vikram Awardee in Judo; Dr. Alok Mishra, Director of Physical Education, BU Bhopal; Supriya Jatav, Vikram Awardee in Karate; Dr. Sapan Jain, Principal, LN Ayurvedic College; Dr. Vishal Tiwari, Director, LN Ayurvedic College; Dr. Ashutosh Shukla, Associate Professor, Ayurvedic College; Pawan Choukse, Account Head, LNCT; Dr. Rajesh Tripathi, AICPF President; Krishna Teeth Chaturvedi, DSW, RGPV; Vijay Yadav, Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist; R.K. Sharma, Director of Sports, TIT University; Pankaj Jain, Sports Director, LNCT University.
Commonwealth Judo Champion and Gold Medalist, Vijay Yadav, expressed his appreciation for the event, saying, “I have never seen such a well-organized inter-university competition in my life. Congratulations to the organizers.”
